Clos René, with a history dating back to the mid-18th century, presents its 2020 vintage from the prestigious Pomerol region. This wine is crafted from vineyards characterized by gravel and sand soils with iron deposits, planted with 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Malbec—the latter being one of the largest plantings in Pomerol. Vinified in traditional cement vats and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (25% new), the 2020 Clos René embodies the estate's commitment to traditional winemaking techniques. The result is a wine with a deep ruby hue, offering layers of ripe dark fruits, subtle floral notes, and a refined minerality, culminating in a long, satisfying finish.
