Château Branas Grand-Poujeaux is gelegen in de kwaliteitslieudit Grand Poujeaux binnen de AOC Moulis-en-Médoc — een relatief klein maar zeer karakteristiek stukje Médoc met goede grind- en zandleemgronden die Cabernet-druiven prachtig laten rijpen. Het domein werkt op klassieke Bordeaux-wijze maar heeft de laatste jaren geïnvesteerd in kwaliteitsverhogende maatregelen in wijngaard en kelder, waardoor de wijnen opvallend geconcentreerd en zuiver zijn voor dit prijssegment.
